As of 1st October, Philippe Léon has taken up the position of EOLE project leader. Previously, he notably played a part in the project to develop the logistics hub and east entrance site in Saint Nazaire, in collaboration with the Chantiers de l’Atlantique Shipyard.

From the autumn of 2024, Nantes University is going to be proposing a Multi-Skilled Port Officer University Diploma. This new course is for all types of port facilities (marinas, fishing harbours, commercial ports, energy ports), and aims to combine the core knowledge provided by University teaching with the techniques and expertise taught by professional bodies.

On 4th October, at the École Centrale Engineering School in Nantes, the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique Brittany-Atlantic Region Maritime Cluster (PMBA), in partnership with the MEET2050 Institute, Corimer and ECN’s Cargo Cluster, held a BlueDay on the topic of "GreenShips & GreenPorts".

As of mid-September, shipping line WEC Lines has incorporated Montoir de Bretagne in its Northern Europe ‒ Southern Europe maritime logistics plan. The inaugural port call took place on Tuesday, 10th October 2023, in the presence of representatives of Greater Western France industrial firms that are users of this shipping service, and of representatives of the Shipping Line.

It’s now official: Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has been chosen as the port of installation of the Îles d'Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm. An agreement regarding the reservation of port real estate has been signed by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port and the Company Eoliennes en Mer des Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN) for a period of use of 21 months. This award is a powerful sign of the recognition of the know-how possessed by all the port professionals who were already involved in the deployment of France’s first offshore wind farm facility, which came into service in November 2022.

2023 marks the fiftieth year of existence of the ro-ro shipping link between Montoir de Bretagne and Vigo. Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port’s oldest shipping service, it was originally created to support the development of flows of component parts between the Citroën plants in Rennes, in Brittany, and Vigo, in Spain.
