On 4th and 5th April, Greater Western France’s port promotion collective Oportunity and its partners Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port, Néoline, Somaloir and SNM Heavy Handling were present in La Rochelle on a stand that welcomed a large number of visitors during this professional gathering devoted to shipping and breakbulk transport.

19th February signalled the official launch of the "ZIBaC" low-carbon industrial activity zone on the Loire Estuary, an initiative driven by the French National Agency for Energy Transition (ADEME) within the framework of the "France 2030" Programme, for which the Loire Estuary Regional Community’s project was named the winning proposal in July 2023. The objective is to reduce emissions in the activity zone by 50 % by 2030, and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

For Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port, the ramping up of energy transition also involves the experimentation with and the accommodation of new, innovative energy solutions within the Port Authority area.

A few weeks ago, 50 tonnes of granite bound for an urban redevelopment project in the Lyon area passed through Montoir de Bretagne, arriving by sea from Vigo (Spain), before departing by rail for Saint-Priest.
