Creation of the Greater Western France Shippers Club
The Greater Western France Shippers Club was officially launched on 26th June at the Beach Forwarding event in Saint Nazaire, under the presidency of Pauline Van den Bulcke, Export Director at U LOG. The aim of this new collective is to unite industrial firms working with the Port of Montoir de Bretagne around concrete actions to strengthen the Region’s maritime offer.
By collaborating with one another, industrialists will be able to pool their resources, share their ideas and coordinate their assets. Together, they will be able to generate economies of scale in terms of freight transport, notably for containerized cargo, thereby ensuring more fluid port transit operations.
At the heart of the Shippers Club’s concerns are the decarbonization of transport operations, the growth of multimodality, the optimization of freight costs, the reduction of delivery times for greater competitiveness, and seamless port transit. Working groups have been set up around the agri-food, industry, energy, pharmaceutical and construction sectors, led by representatives of the Regional Community’s major economic sectors.
A lever for cooperation and innovation
"It’s not just a new entity, it’s a call to action," emphasized Pauline Van den Bulcke, President of the Greater Western France Shippers Club. "The Club aims to be a lever for cooperation and innovation, so that together we can meet the challenges of the supply chain in Greater Western France. In addition to industrial shippers, the Association seeks to bring together all the regional players. Our ambition is to move forward together, but also to speak with a strong and coherent common voice to our partners, decision-making bodies and players in the maritime supply chain. Industrial shippers from all sectors, join the Greater Western France Shippers Club and become part of this regional dynamic."
