Since 2021, Wind for Goods has been bringing together every two years stakeholders who have set a common course to decarbonizing the maritime industry! The leading international event dedicated to the wind-powered transportation of freight and passengers, Wind for Goods connects representatives from the sector to highlight solutions and practices that will reduce the carbon footprint of the maritime industry. Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port is a partner of this event.

At the Saint Nazaire submarine base on 19th and 20th June, nearly 1 000 people took part in this international event to discuss the major advances in the sector, to create synergies and to support the growth of this sector of activity. The two-day event featured 70 exhibitors, 20 workshops, panel discussions and conferences, as well as business meetings and demonstrations in the dock basin.

Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port, Partner and Player

For nearly a decade, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has been supporting the development of the sail power sector and numerous projects aimed at decarbonizing maritime transport.

Representing Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port, Chair of the Management Board Jean-Rémy Villageois and Sophie Cochard, Deputy Managing Director for Development and Transitions, both made contributions: the first at the press conference and the second during the panel discussion entitled "The Sail Power Sector and the Port Sector: a Natural Partnership".

At the heart of a particularly committed and dynamic ecosystem, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port already plays a major role in supporting the sail power sector. This is reflected in discussions with future shipowners to understand the specifications of the vessels concerned, in order to adapt port infrastructures and services. It also means providing new storage solutions close to the quays and being able to accommodate new players in this sector by offering tailor-made real-estate solutions.
