Two Base Port Calls by Cruise Liners at Nantes and Saint Nazaire
In May, the small-sized expedition cruise liners World Explorer and Exploris One called at Nantes and Saint Nazaire. For the first time, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port acted as the base port.
Nearly 400 passengers disembarked or embarked, with the first cruise liner offering a tour of Ireland and the second a gourmet cruise along the coasts of Britain and Ireland.
These two calls were organized in conjunction with various departments at Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port, as well as the ship’s agents Humann & Taconet, the Loire Pilots and the Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Cruise Shipping Club.
Chartered by Rivages du Monde, the 126-metre-long World Explorer, which was built in 2019, called at the Nantes Cheviré facility, while the 108-metre-long Exploris One, which is owned by Nantes-based French shipping line Exploris ‒ Cruises & Expeditions, was received at Quai des Charbonniers quay in Saint Nazaire.
As is the case with all inaugural port calls, a traditional exchange of plaques was organized for each call with the Captain and a Loire Estuary delegation.
