A Refrigerated Warehouse at the Port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire
The call for expressions of interest issued by Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port to meet the needs of businesses in its hinterland, particularly those in the agri-food industry, has reached a conclusion. The construction and operation of the new cold storage facility at Montoir de Bretagne have been entrusted to Groupe SF. This new facility will enable the Port to expand its maritime service offer, both for imports and exports.
A 12,000 m2 refrigerated warehouse
A 12 000 m² refrigerated warehouse (with the total surface area representing 60 000 m² and with a storage capacity of 20 000 pallet equivalent units) is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2028.
A new facility to meet the needs of companies in its hinterland, particularly the agri-food industries.
Groupe SF is a transport and logistics company with its headquarters in Treillières, in the Department of Loire Atlantique, and possessing several warehouses in the Region. "We already have a base within the Port Authority area, with our subsidiary Transport Morand Containers (TMC)," explains Michaël Salomon, the Company’s Logistics Director. "But thanks to this cold storage facility, we will now be able to offer a comprehensive logistics solution. This call for expressions of interest was a real opportunity for us."
Three Storage Temperatures and Bonded Storage Units
Located near the entrance to the container terminal, the future warehouse will permit the consolidation and deconsolidation of cargo and will offer three storage temperatures: minus 18 °C, between 2 °C and 4 °C, and between 10 °C and 14 °C. Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has reserved a six-hectare, vacant and serviced plot of land.
The new building will also offer related services. It will have "bonded" storage units that will allow veterinary checks to be carried out on site, offering greater flexibility and reducing costs for customers. "And lastly, it will also be possible to plug in temperature-controlled containers," adds Michaël Salomon. "This will allow goods to be stored safely, for example during public holidays, but also and above all in the event of vessel delays."
