The Port Opens Its Doors to the Public for Company Tours in Our Region Days 2026

As a member of the Visit Our Businesses in Pays de la Loire Association, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port once again took part in the Company Tours in Our Region Days initiative, an event that enabled nearly 60 visitors to discover the Port’s facilities and the various port specialisms.

The Cheviré Logistics and Port Activity Zone

On 14th October, a group comprising some twenty participants visited the Cheviré logistics and port activity zone in Nantes. Thanks to the involvement of several partners, the visitors were able to tour various iconic sites in the area, including the sand quarry operated by Lafarge Granulats France and SA.RE.MER, and the Seamen’s Club, a reception centre for seafarers calling at the port.

The Dry Docks in Saint Nazaire

On 16th October, in partnership with Stunning Saint Nazaire, around forty visitors went on a special tour of the dry docks in Saint Nazaire. The tour began in dry dock N° 3, with a presentation of the work being done on the future upstream gate of the Joubert sluice dock, currently being carried out by MATIERE. The visitors were then shown dry dock N° 1, where construction work is underway on the cutwater and the jetty structure for Fort Boyard, led by Spie Batignolles ETPO.

This visit served to highlight the expertise possessed by the companies which are involved in these major projects, as well as the importance of the port infrastructures to the Regional Community’s maritime and industrial activities.
