A New Gangway for Berth UB3 at Quai Cormerais Quay at Saint Herblain

In August, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port personnel replaced a gangway serving berth UB3 at Quai Émile Cormerais quay, which is used for liquid bulk cargo by the CHANE Group.

The Aloes crane barge – a piece of equipment used on the River Loire for lifting, handling and transporting heavy loads – was called upon to assist with the operation. The Aloes has a lifting capacity of 90 tonnes and can handle a transportable load weighing 200 tonnes!

In the first place, the old concrete gangway had to be removed before the new gangway could be installed, the replacement having previously been refurbished at the Les Coteaux maintenance and production workshops at Le Pellerin. It was previously used at the Montoir de Bretagne liquid cargo terminal, and has now found a new purpose!
This type of project involved numerous specialisms, from the preparatory stages, through to the start of the work operations and right up to delivery.
