From October 6 to 9, 2025, Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port took part in a mission to Italy led by the Pays de la Loire Region, aimed at supporting the development of marine renewable energies (MRE).

The delegation was headed by Claire Hugues, Vice-President of the Region in charge of MRE, and included several industrial stakeholders from the region such as Chantiers de l’Atlantique, Créocéan, Axan Energy, Principia, and the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique.

The mission began in Palermo at the Marina Convention Center, where the international Offshore Wind Revolution (OWR) conference was held — a major event dedicated to offshore wind energy. Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port showcased its expertise and port infrastructure tailored to offshore projects.

The delegation then met with the port authorities of Taranto and Augusta, two strategic ports designated by the Italian government to support the development of floating wind energy. These meetings opened the door to future cooperation and strengthened ties between European stakeholders in the offshore wind sector.
