Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port Joins the Renewable Energy Federation

As part of its industrial and energy transformation strategy, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has become a member of France’s Renewable Energy Federation (SER). This move aims to strengthen the Port’s links with industrial players involved in the development of new energy sectors and to support the Regional Community’s energy transition efforts.

On 21st September, Jean-Rémy Villageois, Chair of Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port’s Management Board, welcomed Jules Nyssen, Chair of the SER, for a tour of the Port Authority area. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss shared challenges relating to the roll-out of renewable energy and opportunities for economic development in the Loire Estuary industrial region.

By joining the SER, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port also intends to contribute actively to the collective discussions taking place within the Federation. The Port Authority will soon be taking part in several theme-based working groups, notably those focussing on marine renewable energy, a strategic sector for the industrial and energy-related future of the Loire Estuary.

Membership of the Federation marks a new stage in the Port’s commitment to energy transition and to the process of developing up-and-coming industrial sectors.
