Elected by his peers in November 2021, Bruno MICHEL, the Director of the Elengy liquefied natural gas terminal at Montoir de Bretagne, makes it clear that he is determined to assist Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port in ensuring the success of its 2021-2026 strategic plan.

The Development Board is an advisory body that meets once a quarter. The Port Authority’s Supervisory Board and Management Board are able to seek its opinion as regards all current issues, notably concerning the pricing policy and the strategic plan. Adopted last December, over the course of the next 18 months this strategic plan will be subject to close scrutiny from the Members and Chairman of the Development Board.
In this way, Bruno MICHEL has called upon the 30-strong membership, which is divided into 4 colleges (the Port Community, personnel representatives from companies engaged in port-based activities, Local and Regional Government, and qualified figures or associations, notably environmental interest groups), to inform the Development Board through workshops which will enable it to accompany the implementation of the strategy in an operational and efficient manner.

Workshops and Themes
The programme features several workshops covering all the Port’s activities, which are due to deliver their findings at the Development Board meetings to be held in 2022: dry bulk cargo, the supply chain and logistics offer, clean mobility, multi-modality, the future of port-based energy providers, containers and MRE. Two main themes ("The Port of the Future" and "The Port and Climate Change") will also be launched during the first quarter of 2022, to be reported upon in 2023.

All this work will thereby serve to support the port strategy, which is built around three major objectives: "delivering successful energy and ecological transition", "consolidating the Port's role as the maritime gateway to Greater Western France", and "serving the economic and social development of the Loire Estuary".
