The Crossroads for Container Shipments

In order to meet the demand from regional and international shippers, Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port proposes liner shipping services covering Western Africa and the French West Indies. It also possesses feeder connections with the Northern European and Mediterranean hubs.

The World’s three leading container shipping lines, namely Maersk (via BG freight), MSC and CMA CGM, all call at the Montoir de Bretagne terminal.

The Montoir de Bretagne general cargo and container terminal offers shipping lines a straight, 600-metre length of mooring quay thanks to a 350-metre-long quay extension, which was delivered at the end of 2017 following two years of work. This new provision means that the facility is henceforth able to receive vessels with a capacity of up to 8 000 TEUs and measuring over 300 metres in length, as compared to 250 metres previously.

The true gateway to France’s Atlantic Seaboard, Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port possesses reliable infrastructures and a range of services including warehousing, logistics, information technology, customs and statutory services for the pre- and post-carriage of containerized cargo.

Numerous ongoing development projects aim to reinforce the competitiveness of Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port’s container business.
