Access to the Port
The ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) Code, the international measure relating to the security of vessels and of port installations which came into force in 2004, applies to the port terminals.
Access to the port facilities is regulated according to the determined security level. The conditions of access defined in a Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) are specific to each terminal.
The provisions below apply for security level 1 in respect of the terminals operated by the Port Authority or by its subsidiary companies. For the higher security levels, additional provisions may be put in place.

Requests for a Permanent Access Badge
For all requests to be granted permanent access to the port facilities of Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port, please complete the form below and send it to badgesport@nantes.port.fr .
The request has to be validated by the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) concerned.
Punctual access badge request

Conditions of intervention in the Port Area:
To manage as effectively as possible all safety issues relating to your worksites and to your interventions, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port is engaged in a process of continual improvement, with the aim of achieving the goal of "zero accidents". Each firm is therefore asked to sign Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port’s annual global prevention plan. Firms undertaken to inform their personnel, to ensure that their members of personnel comply with the plan on all their worksites and interventions, and to take and to enforce all necessary risk prevention measures in strict compliance with the relevant labour and employment legislation.

Rail Access
The Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port Authority owns and manages its own port-based rail network. Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port is accessible via two rail routes: the Loire Estuary line (Nantes-Angers-Tours-Paris) and the Rennes-Le Mans-Paris line. All the port facilities have a rail service provision that is branched onto the national rail network.
