Saint Nazaire at the Movies!

Cales ObscuresNantes − Saint Nazaire Port is partnering the “Port Zones - International Cinema Encounters” Festival, which is taking place in Saint Nazaire from 8th to 13th June 2016. Mounted by the “Cales Obscures” (“Dark Holds”) Association, the Festival seeks to make known by means of the cinematic art all the specificity and richness of port cities in France and abroad.

This year, the spotlight is on the port city of Athens. A theme echoing European current affairs will be explored: migrations via ports, Europe’s gateways.
Launched in partnership with the Jacques Tati Cinema in Saint Nazaire, the "Port Zones" Festival proposes nearly 30 films for the general public over 6 days. Documentaries, dramas, comedies, outdoor screenings, night-time touring projections, an audiovisual discovery and production workshop, roundtables… the possibilities are many. Certain showings are also scheduled off-site in Nantes, Le Pouliguen, Saint Malo de Guersac and La Turballe.
