Paimboeuf: A Rich Maritime Past

  • A 120-metre-long frontage
  • A team operating 7 days a week
  • Three sheds for maintenance activities

Located on the south bank of the Loire Estuary, 25 kilometres upstream of Saint Nazaire, Paimbœuf is one of the Port’s original sites. This former outpost of the Port of Nantes saw its heyday in the 18th Century. Its quays built between two branches of the River Loire, its narrow lanes and its imposing edifices are there to remind us of its rich maritime past.

Today the facility accommodates Nantes - Saint Nazaire Port’s dredging operations centre. It is responsible for developing and implementing the dredging programmes, for coordinating the activities of the crews and crew provisioning, as well as for maintenance operations. Its 120-metre-long frontage offers facilities for the reception of dredgers, tugs and survey craft.
