1st Edition of the Floating Wind Power Atlantic Forum

Supported by the Regional Authorities of Brittany and Pays de la Loire, the 1st edition of the FWP (Floating Wind Power) Atlantic Forum was held from 12th to 14th October 2016. An annual event, this gathering forms an integral part of the 10th edition of Sea Tech Week, an international event dedicated to marine sciences and technologies.

After the first two days spent in Brest at conferences and workshops, a Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port Authority site visit was organized on 14th October. The programme included a chance to discover the Floatgen Project via a visit to the workshop where the blades and anchors are stored at the TGO Great Western Terminal, followed by a tour of the Floatgen floating wind turbine demonstrator construction site at the Penhoët dock basin. The first edition of the event also featured a presentation of STX’s Anemos factory, where the electric power substations are built.
