SITL Europe 2016: The Transport and Logistics Gathering

SITLFrom 22nd to 25th March, Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port took part in the SITL International Transport and Logistics Trade Show at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, alongside the District Authority for the Saint Nazaire and Loire Estuary Urban Area (CARENE) and the Atlantic Supply Chain Agency (PASCA).

SITL Europe 2016 showcased all the innovative products and services dedicated to goods transportation, physical distribution and the supply chain. The trade show represents the biggest concentration of transport and logistics users from the areas of industry, trade and retail distribution who are looking for new suppliers. It was attended by 800 exhibitors and attracted nearly 41 000 visitors.

Renewable Energy, the New Ro-Ro Terminal…
A core event at the trade show was held on 23rd March: Maritime Day, a meeting between shippers and the maritime sector for roundtable discussions. Jean-Pierre Chalus, the Chairman of the Port Authority’s Management Board, spoke on the topic: Offshore Wind Power: Ports, Home to a New Industry. The port-based marine renewable energy offer was one of the major themes presented on the Nantes − Saint Nazaire stand. This marked the opportunity for visitors to view Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port’s new video clip about the MRE sector (see the video). The Maritime Day event also offered the chance to present the new configuration of the Montoir de Bretagne ro-ro terminal.

Several companies including Compagnie Ligérienne de Transport (CLT), Productys Solutions, SNM, Sogebras, Suardiaz Atlantica and TGO Great Western Terminal were present alongside Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port and CARENE. A genuine public-sector / private-sector dynamic that serves the interests of Nantes − Saint Nazaire and places logistics performance as a key element in the development of economic sectors.
