12 Buoys Shipped to the Congo

At the end of November, 12 buoys mounted on six 55-tonne frames left Montoir de Bretagne’s TGO Great Western Terminal bound for Total’s Moho Nord oil rig in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The 80-tonne, XXL-sized buoys measuring 25 metres in height and 5.20 metres in diameter were manufactured by industrial firm Tissot in Saint Nazaire. They will be used to connect the pipe system and the offshore oil rig. Once the 6 support frames had been loaded, fixed in place and secured, the buoys were loaded one at a time onto the H 404 barge. At Montoir, the ship’s agent for these operations is BLP Shipping and the cargo handler is TGO.
