New Premises for the Great Western France Headquarters

SDV BatimentOn 2nd July, Bolloré Group Company SDV officially opened its new, cutting-edge premises at Saint Aignan de Grand Lieu, south of Nantes, in the presence of its customers and suppliers. Built on a one-hectare plot of land, the new headquarters offer 2 700 m² of office space on three levels, for 200 staff members.

The building not only meets the requirements of an efficient operations management set-up but also expresses the environmental dimension that formed a core part of the specifications from the initial phase of the project.
The new premises have thereby been granted Exceptional HEQ (High Environmental Quality) certification. The NFHQE™ Tertiary Premises Environmental Quality Certification relates to the ecobuilding, ecomanagement, comfort and health performances delivered by a building operation.

The building’s primary vocation is to be the headquarters for the Greater Western France Region, relayed at a local level by the agencies in Quimper, Rennes, Montoir de Bretagne and Cholet. It also accommodates staff employed by Saga, one of the Group’s other forwarding agents in France. In total, 300 staff members covering a complete range of job functions participate in the development of the Group’s activities.
The Nantes facility employs 160 people, not only staffing the regional headquarters but also tasked with managing international logistics operations in the Nantes economic catchment area.

With this new infrastructure, SDV provides an even more effective response to its customers’ requirements, notably in the agri-foodstuffs, aeronautical, defence, high-tech, marine and yachting sectors, as well as in the field of mass retailing.

This operation confirms SDV’s strategy of developing its performance capability in France and is the first concrete step in an extensive programme of investment by the Bolloré Group in France in 2015 and 2016. A global player for supply chain operations, SDV is one of the world’s top ten transport and logistics firms, with an integrated network of 612 agencies in 102 countries.

In 2014, SDV handled a volume of over 30 000 TEUs at Montoir de Bretagne, part of which transited its 4 400 m² logistics and storage facility located 1 km from the container terminal. On that site SDV carries out its consolidation operations for export consignments to the French West Indies, the Indian Ocean and Western Africa as well as providing dedicated logistical services for its customers’ import and export throughput.
