FAP in Hamburg

From 24th to 26th september, Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port has been taking part in the Seatrade Europe Cruise Shipping Trade Show. Held every two years in Hamburg (Germany) and alternately with the Seatrade Mediterranean Trade Show, this event is the European counterpart of the Cruise Shipping Conference in Miami (USA).
 
The member ports of the French Atlantic Ports Club (Le Havre, Rouen, Honfleur, Cherbourg, St. Malo, Brest, Nantes – Saint Nazaire, La Rochelle, Bordeaux and Bayonne – St. Jean de Luz) were present once again this year on the same stand to jointly promote France’s Atlantic Seaboard.
 
Mixed Results in 2013

With five calls having been cancelled for different reasons, the Loire Estuary is set to receive only seven cruise liners in 2013, including five in the second half of the year. Two calls have been made to Montoir de Bretagne’s TGO container terminal: on 1st September by the British cruise ship Voyager and on 16th September by the German cruise ship Deutschland. Three  cruise liners were received in Nantes, at the Cheviré general cargo terminal operated by Nantes Port Terminal on  October : on 6th by the  Norwegian Braemar, on 9th by the  British Fram and on 17th by the German Europa. The prospects for the 2014 season are bright, with some ten cruise liner calls already scheduled.
