Renewal of the Qualité Tourisme™ (Quality Tourism) Label

Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port has just secured the renewal of the Qualité Tourisme™ (Quality Tourism) Label for the tours of the downriver port facilities offered by the Port Authority. These tours, which are run by Saint Nazaire Tourism, attract nearly 2 000 visitors each year.

First obtained back in 2015, the National Qualité Tourisme™ (Quality Tourism) Label has been renewed for a period of 5 years. The award relates to the coach tours of the downriver port facilities. Open all year round for individual visitors or organized groups, the two-hour-long excursion comes with a commentary provided by a Saint Nazaire Tourism approved guide. Departing from the submarine base, the tour takes in stops that are arranged according to the ongoing port activities and helps visitors to find out more about the Saint Nazaire, Montoir de Bretagne and Donges terminals.

To obtain the renewal of the Qualité Tourisme™ (Quality Tourism) Label, the port tour in question was given a thorough examination by an auditor from an external, independent auditing firm. The auditor assessed the level of service proposed, on the basis of 406 satisfaction criteria, covering everything from upstream information gathering to an unannounced participation in a tour this past summer.

The quality label honours at one and the same time the efforts made by Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port in the reception of visitors − to date, the Port Authority is the only one of France’s major seaport authorities to have been awarded this quality label for its port tours − and the quality of Saint-Nazaire Tourism’s work in running the guided tours.

The partners thereby mark their commitment to maintaining a high-quality port tour offer for the general public, and have been assisted in that approach by the Visit Our Businesses in Pays de la Loire Association
