A TrainForTrade Session in Nantes

From 12th to 22nd June, within the framework of UNCTAD’s International TrainForTrade Programme, Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port welcomed for the fourth time a 30-strong group of port managers and professionals from French-speaking countries.

Since 2012, acting in conjunction with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port has organized training courses enabling the trainees in their turn to transmit their know-how in their respective countries (Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Guinea, Togo, Haiti, Mauritania).

Over the course of 10 days, the trainees updated their knowledge of modern port management via several training modules (international trade and transport; the organization and operation of a port system; the major issues for the future and the digital management of ports). The training was provided by trainers from Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port, Nantes Ports Maritime Union and Marseille Port Authority, and by outside experts from Benin, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Senegal and UNCTAD.
