Birdfair - From Birds to Nature Tourism

The 2nd edition of the Birdfair Festival is being held in Paimbœuf on 20th, 21st and 22nd September. Birds and nature tourism are the themes that will have pride of place at the event, which is once again supported by Nantes - Saint Nazaire Port.

The French National Society for the Protection of Birds (LPO) Birdfair Festival is organized by LPO’s Pays de la Loire Regional Committee. It is based on the themes of birds and nature tourism and is designed for a broad audience. The event is structured around several elements: the nature tourism exhibition, the conference and discussion space and the nature discovery centre. It is also punctuated by artistic encounters and festive moments.

Open to all types of public, the programme of events for this 2nd edition promises to be very full and notably includes:
- educational actions aimed at the Region’s schools;
- a chance to learn about nature-related specialisms, designed in collaboration with different institutional and educational partners;
- new spaces in the town of Paimbœuf, rolling out the Festival to new, national and international exhibition spaces, conference venues and gathering places;
- projections of nature films (including the “The Butterfly Bird”, a première in France);
- a nature excursion by bike, an introduction to Chinese painting, an adventure playground;
- domestic animals in the flesh (goats, sheep, cows);
- an even more wide-ranging activity area for children.
